Accessibility and Usability
We are firm believers that for a system to be successful, it has to be usable. This is why we place a particular emphasis on ensuring that all of the systems we design are carefully evaluated both for meeting their business requirements and meeting best-practice for usability.
It's not just an aspirational thing, however; it's the law. As designers, we must strive to make our designs accessible to everyone. That means that we have to think in terms of universal access to users who may be partially sighted or making use of assistive devices.
When we work with our customers, we bring with us our solid experience of creating usable and accessible systems. We know the pitfalls to avoid, and we know the best practice to use when designing for an external internet site, an intranet site or a Windows application.
What's more, we are delighted to be able to offer Usability & Accessibility Audits on your systems, which involves one of our consultants assessing a system against a number of key benchmarks. At the end of this process, a report is delivered, which identifies any failings and provides suggestions for improvement. The importance of having impartial, experienced eyes give an objective report on an existing or proposed system cannot be stressed highly enough.
